The Overseas College Counselor assists MEF International and National students and parents maneuver their way through the international university admission process. The goal is to help students gain admission to the colleges and universities that best suit their ambitions and aspirations anywhere in the world. In addition to college preparation, assistance is given with career planning.

Guidance and support is provided with the research, application completion, and decision-making process, as well as giving information about standardized tests (SAT/ACT/IELTS/TOEFL).  Students can do college planning and utilize career assessment tools via Family Connection, the portal of the Naviance platform. The Overseas College Counselor liaises with universities and colleges, arranging visits to the MEF campus with admissions and recruitment representatives. Students and parents receive regular newsletters and other communications from the Overseas College Counselor.

The Overseas College Counselor arranges meetings with students in Grades 11 and 12, and meets with students in Grades 9 and 10 by request. All high school students are encouraged to visit the Overseas College Counselor’s office, located on the top floor of the International School, to browse the reading materials, take brochures, or to arrange an appointment.

Parents or university representatives are welcome to make an appointment with the Overseas College Counselor, John Potter, at the following e-mail address:
